The city has the modern Bangkok International Airport, On September 28, 2006, Suvarnabhumi Airport (IATA: BKK), became Bangkok's official international airport, replacing Don Mueang. Pronounced Suwan-naphum or loosely Su-wan-na-poom, the airport is located about 18km from the city center in Samut Prakan Province, acting as a hub for the northern south east Asia region. You can see the variety of nationalities either arriving or staging through en-route to neighbouring countries or even the other continents. With domestic journeys and transfers. This is one hectic place to be!
There are business facilities at the airport which are chargeable. The
airport business centre provides telephone, fax, computers and meeting
rooms in the transit area and transfer centre of International Passenger
Terminal 1.
There are also telecommunications centres in International
Passenger Terminal 2 and in the International Passenger Terminal
1 there is a post office.
Internet services are available in International
Passenger Terminal 1 and in the business passenger lounge.
The Amari Airport Hotel, adjacent to the airport, also offers
business centre service.
Transportation: Take only authorised taxis or limousine service. There are
also metered city taxis outside and they are cheaper in price. An airport
taxi costs around 500-700 Baht while metered city taxi costs around
200-300 Baht. There is also an Airport Bus service linking the airport
with many downtown hotels. Air-conditioned airport buses leave from
front of the airport to various provincial destinations.

Tax: This is payable by international travellers at 500 Baht per
person. Departure tax for domestic flight is 40 Baht.
