One of the most interesting and fascinating areas of
Bangkok, the riverside area shows a constantly changing scene with
taxi boats swiftly transporting passengers, teak and rice barges The Bangkok riverside area also contains some of Bangkok's most prestigious hotels, from The Oriental, Shangri-La, and the Sheraton to good value first class hotels like the Menam, well established before the real estate boom are also in this area.
Cruising along the river is one of the fastest way to get around the capital. Many of Bangkok's great hotels are close to passenger quay's where frequent and cheap water based transportation is available. The natural and obvious bonus of locating in this area being the river views.

anything and everything on the Chao Phraya River and klongs. All this
set against a backdrop of glittering temples, colourful buildings
and modern skyscrapers.
Close by is Sanam Luang district which is the political area of Bangkok.
Sanam Luang has many historic landmarks and buildings, including the
Grand Palace. The area remains relatively free of modern architecture
and gives a better feel for "old Bangkok."
