'Bombay' Authentic Indian Food Restaurant, Chiang Mai, Thailand
Bombay, 17 Natharam Road, Chiang Mai Gate, Chiang Mai, Thailand
During our five week stay in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand in December 2007 and part of January 2008 we found 'Bombay', a no frills, authentic Indian food restaurant, serving great vegetarian and non-vegetarian Indian cuisine and Thai dishes.
We have been frequent returning customers over the period of our stay and been surprised at the number of ex-pats from around the world as well as tourists that come back time and again to sample the delicious traditional Indian food.
With only about 20 covers, this small, bistro style establishment has a congenial atmosphere, where host 'Lek', will if you want him to, release his wealth
of local knowledge and information. The regular patrons seem to be true devotees of the real Indian curry, washed down with a chilled Thai or imported beer!
Bombay is a great place to swap stories and experiences, we can thoroughly recommend it.
The reasonably priced menu includes many southern style Indian dishes and as each individual portion is cooked separately for you, you are able to determine
the 'spicy-ness' to suit your pallet.
So, next time we are in Chiang Mai, we'll see you in Bombay. As 'Lek' says "All roads lead to Bombay!"
