Stor Samukkee Restaurant, Chiang Mai
Stor Samukkee Restaurant, Opposite Chiangmai Gate Hotel, Suriyawong Road, Tambon Haiya,
Ampho Muang, Chiang Mai 50100, Thailand.
We ate heartily at Stor Samukkee Restaurant two or three times a week during our stay at Chiang Mai Gate Hotel, Chiang Mai in December 2007 through the first week of January 2008.
Stor Samukkee Restaurant is a bistro style restaurant with about twenty covers. 'Stor' is a southern Thailand vegetable and 'Samukkee' means union and the owners Lek and Toy have come together to offer patrons warm hospitality and great food at a very good price.
The menu caters for both Thai and European, vegetarian and non-vegetarian tastes and we must have tried just about every dish of the main courses section.
The European style dishes are cooked to order and many of the Thai dishes too.
When you order a beer; the glass(es) comes straight out of the freezer! A nice touch. If you need attention all you have to do is stroke the wooden frog on your table and ears prick up.
We can thoroughly recommend that during your stay in Chiang Mai you should eat here at least once! If you like Thai food then the Thai Green Curry is to die for! If you want 'Ribs' or 'Schnitzel' then they are to kill for!
Bon Apetite!
