Hua Hin Golf and Golf Courses
Hua Hin was the first place in Thailand to have a 'proper' golf course, The Royal Hua Hin Golf Course, within the town boundary, between the railway line and the Khao Hin Lek Fai, Park and Overlook of Hua Hin to the west of town.
There are a number of other Hua Hin golf courses besides the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course in and around Hua Hin and Cha-am and more on the way.
The Gulf of Thailand coast is fast developing as a retirees paradise and golfers are just a proportion of the mainly European expats community.

Black Mountain Golf Club, Hua Hin
A golf course said to be challenging enough for top golfers while enjoyable and playable to the average golfer. The Black Mountain Golf Club, Hua Hin opened on the 20th of April 2007. The peaceful tranquil surroundings, with valleys meeting the mountain range behind Hua Hin creating the scenic backdrop for the Black Mountain golf course.
Hua Hin Seoul Country Club
Designer Robert McFarland has used one of the most interesting sites in Thailand to good effect. The course is surrounded on three sides by forested hills. From the club house, panoramic sea views give the course a 'links' atmosphere. The large, variation in elevation allows many sweeping holes. The 18th is a classical finishing hole played from an elevated tee and commanding a tee shot of 200 yards carry to reach the fairway. Accommodation is available nearby.
Imperial Lake View Golf Club, Cha-Am
25 minutes north up the Highway 4 coast road from central Hua Hin. A very imaginative and challenging 27 holes of golf by Roger Packard. With rolling mounds, large greens, lakes and palms. 18 holes 6915 yards. Par 72 plus new 9 holes. Hotel, pro shop and putting green.
The Majestic Creek Country Club
At the Majestic Creek Country Club, Thailand's foremost golf architect Dr Sukitti Klangvisai has produced a 7,123 yard layout that needs to be played with both imagination and skill. A maze of streams wind around the six year old course, which slowly trickles down from the surrounding mountains.
Milford Golf Club
The 18 hole international golf course landscaped by American renowned expert Robert McFarland is the only golf course in the country that faces to the ocean and is surrounded by rolling hills.
Palm Hills Golf Course and Country Club, Cha-Am
Just 8km from Hua Hin this is a definite links course, right on the seaside. A most pleasant course by Max Waxler with good use of rocks and shrubs to decorate holes that mostly follow the natural terrain spilling down from wooded hills behind. 18 holes 6373 yards. Par 72. Pro shop, drivi8ng range and a putting green.
Royal Hua Hin Golf Course
Royal Hua Hin Golf Course is in the centre of Hua Hin town and right by the railway station. Built in 1922 for royal patronage this is the oldest proper golf course in the Kingdom. The Royal Hua Hin Golf Course is a very natural golf course running back into wooded hills offering sensational views. 18 range and putting green.
Springfield Royal Country Club, Cha-Am
Not far from Hua Hin the beautifully maintained Springfield Royal Country Club presents the golfer with a wonderful 27 beautifully designed, landscaped holes - each challenges your senses of aesthetics as well as your golfing skills. It is a true Jack Nicklaus masterpiece. A championship course with five sets of tees to play from, the course offers varying degrees of difficulty that accentuate the dramatic lush landscape. Be prepared to some lone carries if you are brave enough to play from the back tees. It is one of the best courses you will ever play.
