- Some Don'ts for Men and Women
Don't touch a persons head or ruffle their hair - The head is classed
as the 'noblest' part of the body. A sincere apology should be offered
if you touch someone's head - even if by accident.
Don't put your feet on a table as a foot rest while sitting - showing
the sole of your feet or shoes is considered to be very rude manners.
Don't use your foot to point out anything and never touch anyone with
your foot - this is considered as an affront. If you accidentally stand
on someone's foot then apologise quickly.
Don't touch a woman without her consent - Thai women are generally
conservative in their manner.
Don't carry out any intimacies between you and
your partner in public
- Kissing and cuddling are frowned upon in public.
Don't sunbathe in the nude at any time where you may be observed
- even in private if you can be overlooked - It is against the law.
Don't enter someone's house with your shoes on - You are expected
to remove your footwear - This is Thai tradition and shows respect
for the household.
In addition - If you're a woman:
 Don't
give or receive anything from a Buddhist monk by hand. As you
can see (Left) you can be blessed with holy water with a brush!
Don't touch a Buddhist monk.
