Buddha: " Whenever you see things, just see. Whenever you listen, just listen. Whenever you know, just know."Thailand - Thai Culture - Traditional Culture
Agriculture: There is a time to sow and a time to reap. With seasonal crops there are harvest celebrations and traditional regional recipes.
Family values: The whole basis for Thai traditional culture lies within the structure of the family. Like most other Asian countries the young are respectfully of and follow the instructions of their parents firstly followed by other elders, monks and teachers. Handicrafts: These are an important part of Thai culture - Regional differences and styles crop up in just about every handicraft from utensil making to weaving. Religion: As most Thais are born into a village culture through their family ties, their main keystone is religion - which for 90 odd percent of the population is Buddhism - revolving around the 'wat' or temple. Modernity is not passing Thailand by but the Thai's appear to have the moral strength not to be drawn away from their cultural, mainly Buddhist, roots.
