Thai sculpture is largely concentrated on the Lord Buddha's image. Many of Thailand's Buddha images are to be ranked amongst the world's finest expressions of Buddhist art. The many representations of Buddha in Thailand almost outnumber the native human population! The statues and sculptures are made from just about every material that could be used in art - The finest are made of precious metals, alloys and base metals, ivory, jade, wood and stucco.

Considered amongst the most beautiful Buddha images are the two Phra Buddha images at Wat Bowon Niwet in Bangkok and Wat Mahathat in Phitsanulok province in the North Area of Thailand.
