There are cheap hotels everywhere in Thailand - Use your bargaining power to get a good deal for the length of your stay. Don't be too upset if you can't get a deal in one hotel there are plenty of other cheap hotels in Thailand!

Bangkok and the resort areas like Koh Samui are obviously going to be more expensive than anywhere else - but there is always going to be somewhere that will suit every pocket if not quite the western standard you are used to.

We spoke to a German guy married to a Thai - They were living at the same hotel in a double room without balcony with fan, no fridge - They were paying 2,000 baht per month!
