A new wing has been added to show the full results and medical effects of the Tsunami that hit Thailand on 26th December 2004. A number of the exhibits here show the advances in identifying deceased victims using DNA science in Thailand. A helpful 'advice on how to survive' is included.

We visited the Siriraj Hospital Museum complex on the 1st floor (Thai 2nd!) of the Adulayadejvikrom Building (building D5) which houses probably some of the most macabre exhibits you will see anywhere in the world in the Forensic Science Section, including a complete preserved body of a convicted murderer, skulls, bones, skeletons, preserved body parts and organs.
A touching thing we saw was that some of the Thai visitors had left offerings of small coinage and confectionery in front of some of the exhibits, particularly where victims of criminal activity, accident involvement, children or babies were involved.
Other exhibition museum galleries are devoted to showing Thai traditional medicine, herbal remedies, midwifery, human anatomy, prehistoric artifacts, rare and interesting diseases and parasitic organisms.
Of course there is a display in the Medical Exhibition honoring H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej. This area of the museum showcases the medical related activities and initiatives initiated by His Majesty for the benefit of the Thai people.
