The Butterfly Garden on Koh Samui is situated in the south eastern area of the island between Bang Kao Bay and Hua Thanon, close to Central Samui Village and the Buddha Footprint Monastery at 111 Moo 2 Thambon Maret
There are flowering shrubs, trees and bushes, that attract the butterflies, planted out under a netting enclosure. With water (created) features all the way through the garden areas.
Near the top of the site there is an apiary display with three captive swarms (below) in various stages of development. The bees have exits to the outside world.
There are displays and a sales point for framed and mounted butterfly and moth specimens in a building at the very highest point of the butterfly garden. The photo (left) shows the pupae cases of the huge Atlas Moth.
