The beach is cleaned daily outside some of the hotels but where it isn't it is still quite clean. The sand is also softer here than on the northern coast beaches. The water is clear, shallow and generally fairly calm, making it suitable for swimming and snorkelling most of the time. There is some sealife close to the beach. There is usually less wind here too making it less suitable for water sports like wind-surfing.
