Thailand - Koh Samui - Hin Ta and Hin Yai Rocks

Hin Ta and Hin Yai Rocks, on the south east coast, two rocks which have the natural form of male and female genitalia! You don’t have to be of a creative mind to recognise the similarities. The rocks are part of a larger group of rocks forming a premonitory between Lamai Beach to the north and Hua Thanon to the south.

Hin Ta means Grandfather - Hin Yai means Grandmother. The two rocks are a couple of hundred meters apart. Hin Ta is quite obvious from quite a way off but you have to be at the 'right' angle to appreciate the Hin Yai rock as Hin Yai - The Grandmothe Rock from any other angle it's just a rock. Once you get the angle you can see what all the fuss is about!

Coconut caramel confectionary

There is a veritable tourist industry on the approach road to the rocks and an enterprising land owner now charges a car park fee at the start of the ‘market’. The well established market sells a quite unique coconut caramel confectionary - a bit gooey in the heat of the moment but could be good after some refrigeration.
