Buddha: " Whenever you see things, just see. Whenever you listen, just listen. Whenever you know, just know."Touring and staying in ThailandThailand is the perfect country to explore whatever your budget. The countries reputation for being backpacker friendly is renowned but there is adventure, heritage and cultural attractions of high quality for those of you with a bigger budget. We went to Thailand initially on a three centre, tailored 'holiday', with four nights in Bangkok, four nights in Chang Mai and five nights on Koh Samui. Great for getting a taster of Thailand, prefect for seeing a bit of everything! We decided it really isn't worth trying to see the whole of Thailand in two weeks, and we would recommend at least a month if you want to experience the country as a whole without wearing yourself out!
Chang Mai, Chang Rai and the Northern provinces are the 'real' Thailand where adventure of the highest order awaits you, especially if you are more interested in nature, local culture and sights and want to elephant trek in the Thai rain forests.
Be warned! Once you have been to Thailand you will want to go back! Our two week adventure has given us the taster. Enough for us to return for two consecutive three month trips during the winter of 2007/08. Graham & Jean Beven, |
