The present swing (2007) was erected in late 2006, and like the original has a finely carved lintel and deserves the designation as a site of national historic value (bestowed in 1949). The Sao Ching Cha is so big it can be seen clearly with the naked eye from the viewing platform on The Golden Mount (Wat Saket Ratchaworamahawihan), The (Temple on the) Golden Mount, over half a mile away, in amongst the modern city buildings of the area. This was part of a self planned walking tour that included viewing : The Golden Mount, Wat Saket, King Prajadhipok Museum, Mahakan Fort, Loha Prasart, The Democracy Monument, City Hall, The Giant Swing, The Ministry of Defence, City Pillar Shrine.
