The unusual curved base of the main temple is called Thong Samphao.
We are led to believe that there are interior wall paintings within the main temple in the original Buddhist style of line paintings without shadows. Unfortunately the temple was closed when we visited there.

Wat Dusidaram Worawiharn is a 'third grade Royal Temple' originally built in the Ayutthaya period [when it was called Wat Sao Prakhon] a Royal daughter of King Rama I, Somdet Chaofa Krommaluang Srisunthornthep ordered the restoration during the Rattanakosin period. The buildings have undergone minor restorations since. 
The temple narrowly escaped destruction during World War II when an annex, Wat Noi Thongyu, next door was destroyed during a bombing raid.
